Who are we, really? PDF Print E-mail

It is interesting, isn't it, that we don't just come out and say what we are about but couch it in language that makes us all sound perfect?!

We are a fellowship of about 30 which, in 9 months, is a 600% increase - that's right - 600% and each week we are growing and people are staying - how about it? Visit us and see what God is doing for we are not proud, all this is a work of God. All we want to do is come and meet with God when we meet together. On Sundays our service consists of worship time for about half an hour then there is time for anyone who wants to bring something to the meeting, according to 1 Corinthians 14:6, and afterward there is a sermon that seeks to speak what God is saying and this is also around half an hour. After the service we have tea, coffee, Fruit Shoots, Pepsi Max and biscuits and have a great time of fellowship.

We seek to be those who are devoted to the Apostles' Teaching, to prayer, fellowship and breaking bread (Acts 2:42).  The word 'devoted' is a great word and my thesaurus says that it can mean: loyal, dedicated, faithful, dutiful, constant, enthusiastic, fervent and fanatical. I love that final word! FANATICAL! You get fans at a football match or when Wales plays rugby so why shouldn't we be fans of God?!

We are ordinary people with a sense that God is building his church here in Ely - you will receive a warm, friendly welcome by popping in

- and together we can seek the will of God for our lives and the community.

Hope to see you soon,

Ian
